Aren’t all Boba
tea products the same? |
Like anything else, quality will vary when comparing Boba
tea supplies.
There are different grades of powders. Some are more
concentrated than
others. Some may
be more creamy. We carry the highest grade powders.
Our premium
gourmet 2.2 lbs bag of powder can serve 45-50 drinks while
market grade powders
can only get 20-30 drinks out of a 2.2 lbs bag.
At Boba Tea Supply we offer the highest quality of
products. Our
tapioca consistently
comes out with the right texture and taste.
The
tapioca pearls also
normally last throughout the
day which is very
important for any
business.
We are also the only
award winner in a double blind test of Boba tea
products by the
American Culinary Institute. Click to see our award
or for the ACI
site. All major brands were tested but only Boba Tea
Supply products came
through as winners.

How many drinks can
2.2 lbs of powder make? |
Again, this varies.
If you are using the Boba Tea Supply flavored powder
and following our
suggested recipes, there are approximately 45-50
servings.
A common deceptive
practice of some companies is to add much more
powdered creamer to
lower their cost. Compare our servings to others
that offer 18-20 servings per 2.2
lbs bag. With us you
get twice the servings.

How many drinks can your tea make? |
A one ounce
filter bag of raw tea will make about 1/4 to 1/2 a gallon

What
is the shelf life on powder and tapioca pearls? |
The
shelf life on powder is approximately 1 year. The
main thing is
keeping it out of
moisture. Powder will keep better if stored in an airtight
container.
Unopened tapioca pearls have a shelf life between 6 months
to 1 year. Store tapioca at
room temperature in dry area.
After the bag of tapioca pearls is
opened, seal the bag as airtight as
possible to keep the moisture from
escaping. If the moisture escapes,
the tapioca pearl will begin to
fall apart. Store in a cool dry area but
not in the
refrigerator. The refrigerator will dry out the tapioca and
they
will become
brittle. It's best to use the tapioca within a few days
from
opening the bag.

How
long do pearls stay fresh after making them? |
Tapioca pearls are
best when served within 4 hours. Tapioca tends to lose
its uniquely chewy
texture by the end of the day. After the pearls sit out
for a
while they get mushy.
If you're serving the pearls in your business,
do your best to use up the
pearls each day.
For best results, use the tapioca pearls within 4 hours
of cooking. Most
businesses will cook at least 2 batches of tapioca pearls a day
to ensure
they are chewy.

Can
tapioca pearls be saved if not used? |
It is definitely not recommended for businesses to reuse the
tapioca.
Businesses should use the pearls prepared that day and toss
out
unused portion.
Because cooking tapioca pearls can be time consuming, you can
cook
tapioca pearls thoroughly, rinse, coat with sugar, and store in a
Ziploc
baggie flat. Flattening the baggie will allow the pearls to freeze
evenly.
Do not make it too thick. When you want pearls, boil water, break
off
a piece of the tapioca pearls you want to use and reboil until
tapioca
pearls regain it's chewy texture.

Should
I use milk, cream or non dairy
creamer for Boba Milk
Tea? |
It
depends on your preference. Non dairy creamer is easier.
Sometimes
people use whole milk and a
Tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk for
their milk tea. Part of the
fun is experimenting and that's where you will
discover menu items that are
your originals.
We also recommend the black
milk tea powder to make milk tea. It
is easier
and many people prefer
the taste over brewed tea.

What's
the first step to opening a Boba tea shop? |
The first step is to
make sure you can make a proper drink.
We
recommend you get a deluxe
business
sample kit or pearls
n powder kit
and throw a Boba tea party for your family and
friends. This way you
can get important feedback.
Whether it’s
good or bad, your friends and
family will give you their honest opinion.
